Hand Tooled Leather Purse with a Mysterious History

In the late 1800s, there were three old west traveling shows.  Wild Bill Hickock and Buffalo Bill Cody were the internationally known showmen.  But a third entrepreneur was trying to establish his own show.  Wild Bill Cody, a B-list cowboy actor in Hollywood traveled the small town rodeo circuit trying to break into the big time. This purse was a gift to a friend in Erie and we have letters and information to document the event. A beautiful purse with a mystery to solve! Purse has never been used.  Size is 11" wide, 9" inches tall, 3" deep.
