As an American, I have always embraced our diversity and cultural richness. I am saddened that we currently are turning our backs on immigrants (especially refugees), who need our help the most. I hope my art contributes to a message of true hope for their future, and ours.

As a Texan, I have fond childhood memories of crossing the border into Mexico for shopping and dining with my family. For those who live on the border, crossing back and forth is essential to the economies of cities on both sides. A wall sends a horrible message to our southern neighbors, will bankrupt many businesses on both sides, and will disrupt a number of wild animal migrations as well.
