Queen Tara

THE MODEL: Tara (Ohio)

Tara, 50 year old mother of three, is a strong woman who's life changed way before her diagnosis in April 2018.  The deaths of her parents, son and sister were already weighing heavily on her at the time she learned she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer.  She spent time in the hospital and was initially told she was had a boil.  She felt scared and alone as she was given the news that would change her life forever.  She often wondered why she had to experience such an illness after all that she had endured prior to now.  As she waited for an appointment, and the nurse eventually called her name, it was in that moment she finally was able to ask "Why Not Me?".  She says the way she heard her name called that day was unlike any other.  This time it sounded as if she were being announced to come on stage, and the stage was the boxing ring of her life.

Today Tara is STILL FIGHTING.  Over the years, she's dealt with many obstacles including depression and grief.  She feels she has been training her entire life for this match, with God as her coach.  She now utilizes self motivation, self examination, and  positive thinking to achieve positive results.  As you view Tara's portrait, she wants you to begin with her eye.  Those are eyes of hope, strength and courage.  The many flowers represent peace, beauty and growth.  Her raised arms are reflective of a true survivor and champion who is awaiting the day when she can ring the VICTORY bell.
