Queen Peggy

MODEL: Peggy (Ohio)

The beautiful Peggy is a strong, resilient, 75 year old angel.  Diagnosed in 2019 with uterine cancer, she always believed that she would be a survivor.  In January of 2021, a spot was found on her lung and she had to begin a new season of healing.  Today, she is in her final days of chemo after numerous attempts at finding the best one for her due to different side effects.  She also has the support of her family and church members to keep her going.  She stays active through teaching Bible Study and raising her teenage granddaughter.  Ms. Peggy chuckled as she explained her strength and how she has had to assure her family that God is in Control and she will be alright.  She believes that this part of her journey is just another test and reason to show her faith in God.  "What will be, will be. A lot of times, we say we believe in him until someting happens to us and we don't know how we'll react.  I'm glad my faith was strong enough that I had a good reaction when I got the bad news".  

ARTIST:  Asia (Illinois)

Asia has been creating portraits since the age of 12.  This now 27 year old is a recent graduate with an Associates in Art and Fine Art.   She completed her first mural in 2019, first showing this year in February and is working on opening small art business.

CANCER MEETS ART:

The message Ms. Peggy wanted conveyed through art is "I've come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord!"
