7 by 9 acrylic on canvas. This painting is a reflection of the stillness and mystery of the Full Moon illuminating the darkness of the Canadian mixed deciduous and conifer forest at night. I wanted to highlight the big tree mushrooms as an integral part of healthy forest ecology while also having the animals reveal themselves under the glow of the late summer Full Moon. This painting is my visual essay on seeing the extraordinary within the type of Boreal forest spanning much of our country.
