"Embossed Texture" by Jill Odegaard

"Embossed Texture," by Jill Odegaard, is a relief print from handmade paper. The artwork is framed in a wooden shadow box frame. The overall paper size is 8" wide x 11" high.  The frame size is 12" wide x 15" high.

From the artist -  The repeated squares making up the grid are intended to show the mark of the making.  Through the process of carving the linoleum plate, preparing the handmade paper and embossing the image, my hand is present in each step.  The subdued color palette from the unpigmented paper pulp, the repeated shape of the irregular squares and the soft texture of the handmade paper is intended to reveal a tranquil sensibility.
