The River Ranch Lodge has long been known as the coziest lodge in the Sierras. With just 19 rooms, the Lodge is small and intimate, each room different from the next. Return visitors often plan their stay around the availability of their favorite room. The majority of our rooms have one king bed. Several rooms have two queen beds and some budget rooms are available with one queen bed. The rooms are all charming, comfortable places to enjoy your getaway to the Sierras. The River Ranch is located on the corner of Highway 89 and Alpine Meadows Road, just one mile south of Olympic Valley.

As for the rafting trip...unlike the mellow "float" section of the river in Tahoe City, the Lower Truckee Gorge section has Class II and III rapids that make for a fun and exciting ride. This guided whitewater trip starts off mellow and slowly builds to a mile of continuous class III rapids just before the end. This stretch is great for first timers to get comfortable in the boat, and to get used to paddling while being exciting enough for seasoned rafters and thrill seekers on a time crunch.

The winner will be responsible for picking up the prize at The Foundation's office in Tahoe City or coordinating with The Foundation to arrange for shipping at cost.
