Complete set of 8 Porcelain Hurley Stone Houses by Wendy Bowen
Imagine being the proud owner of this complete set of porcelain Hurley stone house replicas. There are seven stone house replicas representing homes on Main Street within the Hurley Historic District which is a National Historic Landmark. The eighth piece is the hard-to-find Hurley Reformed Church replica. These were made in a limited run between 1987 and 2000 and sold quickly. We are fortunate to have this set still in our possession in time for this auction. Each house is made in two parts, the main body of the building and the removable roof. The exception is the Bevier House which is one piece. These are no longer being produced so don’t miss this chance to bid on the complete set. All come in their original box with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) signed by the artist Wendy Bowen. The set consists of:
● Van Deusen House (dated1989)
● Half Moon House (dated 1990)
● Polly Crispell Cottage (dated 1987)
● The Spy House (dated 1988)
● Bevier House (dated 2000)
● Hurley Reformed Church (dated 1988)
● Dr. Richard TenEyck House (dated 1995)

About the artist and this set: Wendy Bowen, a long-time Hurley resident, specialized in the construction of fine porcelain models of historic homes. She made her first porcelain Hurley stone house replica in 1979 as a sample for the Hurley Heritage Society. It was a “generic” house, not based on any one of the houses in particular. The quality of her work was so good, that the Society commissioned her to reproduce one of the historic stone houses on Main Street. She continued to make 6 more houses for the Society and was also commissioned by the Hurley Reformed church to reproduce the church. Wendy retired after year 2000 and stopped making the Hurley houses before all ten of the stone houses on Main Street could be reproduced.
