Shoshi Kanokohata is a Japanese American artist. She earned an MFA in Ceramics from UCLA  and creates strikingly unique works.  Numerous key galleries and museums such as UCLA New Wight Gallery have featured Shoshi Kanokohata's art. This collectible unglazed ceramic is an outstanding example of his work. The cobalt blue base is swirled in a simple line onto the cover.  Kanokohata's art explores themes of identity, memory, and cultural heritage through a range of media, including painting, drawing, and sculpture. She often draws on her personal experiences growing up in a Japanese immigrant family in the United States, as well as her travels to Japan and other countries.  Her work often combines traditional Japanese aesthetics and motifs with contemporary artistic techniques and materials, creating a unique visual language that speaks to both her cultural heritage and her individual voice as an artist.
