Art and the West have been a large part of Lance's world for as long as he can remember. Raised in Colorado Springs, he became interested in art watching his father draw cowboys. Lance Headlee’s stylized art is unlike any other traditional western artwork. In fact, it is the opposite of traditional and often described as cool, unique, fun, and sexy. He has been applying paint to canvas for over 35 years. This painting is from his Minimal Contemporary Western Series – A unique, distinctive, signature style and technique of extreme spareness and simplicity, stripped down to its most fundamental feature.
