Apostle Paul Sculpture by Artist, Pete Flood

This piece was completed in 2016. The original terra cotta work took about 2 weeks. The artist said in considering what Paul might have looked like he researched scripture and some secular history documents. Paul was described as someone without much hair who suffered tremendous physical hardships including several whippings and beatings. The artist gave him a crooked nose because it must have been broken at least a few times. The lines in his face are a combination of age and suffering. The expression on Paul's face is meant to convey hope in spite of persecution and suffering. Life size bust.
