I’m Luke, and this is Johnson Company Woodworking.

My name is Luke Johnson. I live in Huntsville, AL working full-time as a manufacturing engineer. Growing up on a farm in rural Tennessee, I have always gravitated towards working with my hands building and fixing things.

I have always worked with wood. Although, most of the time it was just to solve some problem that needed solving. It was never to meet an aesthetic goal. As of the fairly recent past, I have taken a new appreciation for the beauty and work-ability of hardwoods; particularly those found in our region of the country. I have found extreme joy in designing and building custom pieces with regional hardwoods including black walnut, maple, poplar, white oak, red oak, and others. Johnson Company Woodworking is my way of attempting to extend that joy to those around me.

When it comes to furniture, there is a special appeal to being able to design exactly the piece you want, as opposed to shopping from a pre-stocked inventory.
