“I Love You California” print by Annie Galvin
This iconic poster, by Annie Galvin, of a little bear hugging the state of California exemplifies the spirit of community that rose out of the ashes of the 2017 Northern California wildfires.
When the wildfires ignited on Monday, October 9, Annie offered to donate all proceeds from the sale of the “little bear” posters to wild fire victims. By the end of the week they had raised $100,000.
Annie (1966) was born and raised in Ireland. She worked as an illustrator in a Dublin agency before moving to San Francisco in 1989, two weeks before the earthquake. Annie is inspired by San Francisco, Vogue magazine, comic books, Josef Frank textile designs, gardens, Mexican wrestlers, the short stories of Haruki Murakami, and her own dreams and daydreams. She doodles constantly.
Annie Galvin and her husband, Eric Rewitzer, are print makers and painters, husband and wife, and founder of 3 Fish Studios in San Francisco. Annie drew her inspiration for the “I Love You California” series, which features the little bear on various backgrounds, from a 1913 sheet music cover.
Now, this particular little bear is looking for a home. This is a print of an original art work by Annie Galvin. The 16” by 20” print is of the highest possible quality, using 8 color UltraChrome K3tm inks on 300gsm Hot Press Bright paper.
This print is currently offered on 3 Fish Studios website for $65.
