Women of the Harvest, photograph by Don Perrault

An 8 x 10 Photograph—Tibet, Kandze, Kham: Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons to see and participate in the barley harvest in Kham. Across the countryside, there are many large families that have picnics to take a short break from the busy harvest throughout the day. The families drink yak butter tea, and eat tsampa (roasted barely flour rolled in a ball), and bread with dried chilies. This family is joyously singing traditional songs while bailing chaffs of barley.

Don Perrault’s photographs in this auction were created while he was traveling in Nepal and Tibet between 2002-2004. His photographs are used to raise awareness for the people, culture, and landscapes in the region, and for financial support for non-profit initiatives across the globe. Don is honored to connect the people, culture, and landscapes of the Himalaya to the members of Natural Dharma Fellowship community to support Wonderwell. More information about his work can be found at: www.dphoton.org.
