MWF Yellow Door Room Art

Two Canvases, Collage and Printing

My house is me and I am it. My house is where I like to be and it looks like all of my dreams. -Mr Plumbean, The Big Orange Splot

The Yellow Door Room took their inspiration from their explorations of colors, shapes, block building, houses, and The Big Orange Splot. Each group used some of their favorite techniques and materials while creating these pieces of art. The MWF children painted their canvas with warm-toned liquid watercolors. Then they used geometric collage paper to build their own houses which were applied to the canvas. The T/TH children painted their canvas with shades of blue tempera. Then they created geometric prints with foam blocks and paint. They worked together to use the prints to build their own house. Both art pieces have Mr. Plumbean's words sprinkled throughout them.
