Learn to Make Cheese

Get ready to wow friends and family at your next dinner party or gathering!  Learn how to make your own camembert-style cheese while being immersed in the culture of cheesemaking with this unique, fun, hands-on class.

Up to 6 participants may attend the class. Adults and children (if accompanied by an adult) are welcome. The class will be held at the home of a cheese league member and will allow you—plus a few friends or family members—to participate in the process of turning store bought milk into the moist, soft, creamy, surface-ripened cheese we all love.

In addition to the hands-on experience, we’ll have plenty of food for eating and cheese—of course—for snacking!

Details about the day

  • Food/lunch is provided (we “make and eat” at the same time!)

  • All milk, moulds and cultures to be provided by the SF League

This event is sponsored by the League of Urban Cheesemakers, a hobby cheesemaking club in the Bay Area.  The group gathers every other month to crack open homemade wheels, examine enzymes, consider cultures and chat about the wonders of cheese

Potential dates are 5/5/19 or 6/9/19 from 12-3pm.  Other weekends can be considered instead, except for dates in August & December.  Expires on November 24, 2019.  Max number of participants is 6.  No age limit; minors must be accompanied by an adult.
