"Heavy Metal Tecate Drummer" Matthew Luna.  Sculpture. 24" x 24"

This sculpture is made of Tecate aluminum cans and tabs.  It is fully functional drum set mounted on a drum cymbal.  Also fully mobile, the drummer is also a marionette puppet sewn using copper wire and hands of copper wire.

My name is Matthew Luna. I'm a recycled artist born and raised in Las Vegas, NM. I'm 30 years old and have been doing this type of art for about 5 years. I’m a security guard at the local high school and wrestling coach, which I pride myself in working with young adults. 

I started off making small gifts for my sister and family who have supported me in many ways. With that support I've become the person I am today. This journey has not only opened many doors for me, but has helped through many obstacles in my adult life. 

I find this type of art and many others to be therapeutic. All which has given me the courage to keep creating.
