"Shroud" Anna Aragon
"Shroud" Anna Aragon. Hand pulled glass monoprint. 22" x25". Not framed.
A figure shrouded within an open space, in shame and fear, the journey is unknown. Regardless how arduous or dangerous, the crossing must be made.
Monoprints are formed by hand mixing ink and modifiers on slabs of glass. A roller is introduced to the slab and resulting mix is rolled out onto paper. At times paper is directly reapplied to the glass and hand rubbed then pulled from the slab. The resulting image is one of a kind.
Anna Aragon’s work has been published in the international printmaking journal The Hand. She is currently surviving with her husband, three dogs, and countless critters in the mountains of Northeastern New Mexico.
