The piece that started it all! Pulitzer prize-winning composer David Lang is one of our most important long time collaborators. With the so-called laws of nature, he broke the mold for percussion quartets. This three-movement, 36 minute masterpiece put So Percussion on the map in 2002. 

Until recently, it was unusual for first-rate composers to make their most ambitious pieces for percussion ensembles. Steve Reich's Drumming from 1971 is a rare and notable exception. Even the important early pieces in our tradition, like Edgard Varese's Ionisation or John Cage's Third Construction, only clock in at six minutes and ten minutes respectively. 

This signed page of Lang's score is an important piece of memorabilia for any lover of contemporary music.
