PeiCobbFreed/Harry N. Cobb's John Hancock Tower, Boston, MA

Harry N. Cobb’s iconic 1976 tower is the defining building of the Boston Skyline. The building’s austere, abstract, prismatic geometry is captured in this limited edition model custom made for the Small Building Collectors Society (SBCS) meeting in Boston - see some of the other “registration gifts” elsewhere in this auction for more. These were frequently made to the same scale so members could line them all up in their own “home skyline” and spanned over several representational types over the decades. This recent example is cast metal and painted with incised detailing of the building's gridded skin.
