Marks Barfield architects bicycle wheel-like design for what remains the world tallest cantilevered observation wheel relies on a nearly invisible series of radial tension cables to stiffen the outer ring which carries individual, air conditioned gondolas to a height of 443 feet. Situated above the Thames river across from Parliament and originally intended as a temporary construction, what was originally the Millennium Wheel opened in 2000. This model is cast metal and acrylic; the wheel can be rotated!
