1st Grade Collaborative Art Project

1:

“Blue flower topo”

This piece was inspired by Georgia O’Keefe. O’Keefe was an American artist best known for painting abstracted flowers. The first graders used blue and green watercolor to wash sheets of watercolor paper. The differing shades of blue and green bled together to create watercolors as unique as the children that made them. These resulting watercolors were then cut and glued together in a topographic model form to recreate O’Keefe’s “Blue Flower” composed of four sections. These sections were mounted onto a black matte board and framed in a shadow box style.
