Chauffeured Tour of Palm Springs Modern Living Exclusive Home Tour - Seven Extraordinary Palm Springs Homes including Lunch, Signed Photograph and Book
Experience the legacy of legendary architects on an extraordinary tour taking place only during Modernism Week. On Tuesday, February 18 your driver will meet you at 9:00 A.M at your central Palm Springs hotel or residence (or other convenient central Palm Springs location) and whisk you and 3 other guests (2 couples/4 maximum) away in a luxury SUV on the special Palm Springs Modern Living home tour. You will already have been checked in and will be provided with wristbands and other tour essentials, without having to go to the official check-in location.
This tour features homes photographed by James Schnepf for his exceptional book, Palm Springs Modern Living, which was published 10 years ago. Completely sold out and no longer in print, this book featured the groundbreaking work of renowned architects’ midcentury modern residences of Palm Springs. (Bonus! A signed copy of this book is included!)
Your driver will take you to all seven (7) of these extraordinary homes on tour, including designs by Donald Wexler, William Krisel, E. Stewart Williams, Charles Du Bois, William Cody, Herbert Burns and Howard Lapham. While you’re being driven in comfort, explore the online brochure showcasing high-resolution photos of the homes as they appeared in Palm Springs Modern Living.
While your driver is doing the navigation, you’ll be listening to audio-recorded information narrated by James Schnepf himself, accessible via QR codes at each site, about the history of the property, anecdotes from from the photo shoot and conversations with former homeowners, designers and architects and more, for an enriching tour experience unlike any other.
At the conclusion of the tour, 12:30 PM, you and your guests will be dropped off for your reservation at Jake’s Restaurant on Palm Canyon in Palm Springs for a delightful lunch, using the $200 gift certificate included.
In addition to the signed book, the winning bidder will also received a signed photograph by James Schnepf of the image used for the cover of the book, the stunning Edris House.
