Northern Pintail Decoy
This decorative carving, approximately life-size, depicts a male northern pintail, an uncommon visitor to the DuPage County forest preserves. It was carved and painted by Rollin S. Reiter at his Canton, Ohio, studio in 1984. Reiter was a self-taught decoy hobbyist who found inspiration from artists such as the late Andrew “Tan” Brunet, a Louisiana master carver and painter who generously provided counsel during the creation of this piece.
