Lucia Suffel - Enamel Birds 1960 - Scripps Alumna

Lucia S Suffel was born on 13 October 1938, in California, United States, her father, George Shumway Suffel, was 28 and her mother, Elizabeth Younglove, was 26. She lived in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California, United States in 1940. She died on 28 May 1973, in Los Angeles, California, United States, at the age of 34. 

Lucia was a 1960 graduate of Scripps College in Claremont and in 1973 in memory of her the The Lucia Suffel Crafts Award was created by her family and friends. This award is given annually to a student whose work is focused particularly on ceramics and/or fabrics. The selection is made by the art faculty.
