This dark fantasy novel by American author Ray Bradbury was first published in 1962 and has since become a classic of the genre.  Few American novels written this century have endured in the heart and mind as his one has from Ray Bradbury's incomparable masterwork.  The story takes place in the small town of Green Town, Illinois, where two young boys, Jim Nightshade and Will Halloway, discover that a mysterious carnival has arrived in town. The carnival is run by a sinister figure named Mr. Dark, who seems to have the power to grant people's deepest desires in exchange for their souls. As the boys uncover the carnival's dark secrets, they learn the value of friendship, courage, and the power of imagination.

Bradbury began writing at a young age and sold his first story to a magazine at the age of 21. He went on to write popular works including  "Fahrenheit 451," and “The Martian Chronicles," among others. He won numerous awards throughout his career, including a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation, an Emmy Award, and a National Medal of Arts. Bradbury passed away in 2012 at the age of 91, leaving behind a rich legacy of literature that has inspired generations of readers and writers.
