Huntington Gardens is home to 16 spectacular themed gardens spread across 120 acres.  In 1903 Henry E. Huntington purchased the San Marino Ranch, 12 miles from downtown Los Angeles. The three-acre Rose Garden contains more than 3,000 individual plants and more than 1,200 different cultivated varieties.  The library and art gallery contain rare books and one of the most complete collections of 18^th-century art outside of London. The Japanese garden amazes with its bonsai tree collection, while the newer Chinese garden provides a peaceful lake setting. The whimsical  Children's Garden invites kids of all ages to explore the green world and develop a lifelong appreciation for nature.
