Sunset at Monument Valley Oil Painting #1

This gorgeous oil painting captures the glowing hues of the Monument Valley buttes at the close of the day, often referred to as “magic time” in the movie vernacular.  In fact, this area was made popular by John Ford when he featured it in his films.  Monument Valley is part of the Colorado Plateau and is a sacred area that lies on the Navaho Nation reservation. The region is characterized by a cluster of sandstone buttes, the largest reaching 1,000 ft (300 m) above the valley floor.  It is located on the Utah-Arizona state line, near the Four Corners area.  It would be a dramatic addition to a living room or a den.
