Hand-Crafted Bamboo Didjeridu
Artist: Jarrett Dilger Leone
Size: 49.5"
Sound: Approximately E flat.
The didjeridu is regarded by most ethnomusicologists as the oldest wind instrument known to man. It was traditionally used by certain groups of native Australian people. This modern, western version is made from bamboo harvested locally here in Asheville, North Carolina. I have been making, playing and teaching didjeridu for 16 years, and in that time I have refined my technique of making bamboo didjeridus that play as well as many good quality hardwood instruments.
