Artist: Jarrett Dilger Leone
Size: 11 x 14, framed
Medium: Hand-printed woodcut design on handmade paper
"Om Mani Padme Hum" is one of the most well-known Buddhist mantras. The Tibetan Buddhists believe it to be so powerful, that it can be recited by any layperson without formal training, and that merely seeing the mantra represented visually is enough to invoke it's power. This particular print is written in Tibetan script and includes a stylized lotus flower. It was made by hand-carving a wood block and using a vintage press to print onto paper hand made from recycled denim jeans.
