Someone's Got Too Much Thyme On Their Hands (Bec Hill, 2020)
Mixed media
Every person who goes to a lot of effort to create something silly is inevitably told by some smug prick that they have too much time on their hands. As a response to that, I wanted to plant a thyme seed in a bespoke glazed plaster-of-paris pot made from moulds of my own hands and film it growing into a lush plant (a “thyme-lapse”), to highlight the effort and patience that silly creativity requires.
Instead, I hastily stuck some papier-mâché hands to an existing pot and forgot to water my thyme, resulting in this piece of garbage.
But does it strengthen or weaken my original point?
