Thomas Point Shoal Light
The Thomas Point Shoal Light is in the Chesapeake Bay just south of Annapolis. Built in 1875 it is the last lighthouse of its kind, is on the National Register of Historical Places, and has National Historic Landmark status.
Lisa selected this piece because lighthouses help ships sail through rough and foggy seas keeping them away from danger and guiding them to safer waters. Similarly, the work of Beyond Rhetoric’s dynamic volunteers, who lead educational, social, and artistic programs that builds social and creative capacity for at-risk youth.
