Bio: Carmen Morin is an award winning concert pianist, teacher and entrepreneur. She launched her commercial music school in 2013 and under her leadership, Morin Music has grown to be a multiple 7-figure small business with a team of over 40 staff and faculty.  

Programs at ‘Morin Music Studio’ currently provide education to over 1000 students locally in Calgary, and to thousands more around the world through distance education through ‘Morin Online’.  

As a performer, she was awarded first prize in piano duo at international piano competition in Coimbra, Portugal (2018), and her success as an educator has earned her international recognition as the first teacher in her region inducted into the Steinway and Sons International Teacher Hall of Fame in New York (2019).  

After teaching on faculty at MRU (2008-2013) she was recognized for her success as an entrepreneur as the recipient of the Horizon Award (2016) from MRU Alumni Achievement Awards, and was selected as one of Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 under 40 (2021).  

She has mentored entrepreneur students in the Harry G. Schaefer mentorship program and is the founder of the Love of Music Calgary program that offers music education to families who do not otherwise have access to formal music education.  

Carmen has built her business while also being a full-time single mother raising her two children. She is deeply aware of the unique challenges that women experience when pursuing their careers in order to provide for their family. She is passionate and committed to supporting their economic empowerment and the transformation they can experience through financial independence. 

Fun Fact: I love horses, but I am deathly allergic to them so can't go near them!
