Roberta Christensen, after five years and hundreds of interviews, has compiled the first accurate account of early settlers on West Galveston island. Ninety percent is information that hasn't been written before. Instead of relying on other history books, she interviewed people whose families had lived on West Galveston island for generations. Her search for information took her through countless copies of the Galveston Daily News, the archives at Rosenberg Library, records at Stewart Title company, and the county courthouse.
