Bruce Binkley Custom 14kt Gold Earrings (for pierced ears)

On March 31st, 2021, Binkley Jewelers closed their doors for the last time.  Now you can own a piece of Bruce Binkley's custom jewelry...this pair of 14kt Gold handmade pumpkin earrings for pierced ears.  Bruce made and sold many of these over the years, but no more will be made.  Bruce, a long time supporter of the Morton Community Foundation, donated his last pair of pumpkin earrings to the MCF for our auction.

Founded in 1982, Binkley Jewelers was a staple on Morton's Main Street for 39 years.

Bruce started his jewelry career in 1971 working for Steve Novel of Novel Jewelry while attending Morton High School. Shortly after, his family moved to Danville, Illinois, where he joined Royster's Jewelry under William "Buddy" Pierce and continued to learn the trade. In 1982, Bruce was given the opportunity to purchase his former employer's business back in Morton and accepted. With a newborn in tow, Bruce and his then wife, Diane, moved to Morton and started Binkley Jewelers.

As his family grew, so did his business. In 1986, Binkley Jewelers moved to a new location at 105 S. Main Street, and in 2013 the store underwent a major renovation, making it into a charming retail space.

For many years the business was the only full service jeweler in town. Bruce’s talents for custom work, repairs, and, let's say unique, personality earned him much respect from the community. Paying that respect back to the community, for many years he donated custom pieces for the annual Pumpkin Festival and local school fund raisers, as well as participated in Morton High School's CHI cooperative work program.
