Jennifer Elliotson is a Canadian Landscape Artist living and working in Niagara’s Wine Country near Jordan Station, Ontario. 

She has always been an artist, but not always a painter. 

As a professional floral designer for 20 years, Jennifer owned and operated a nationally recognized boutique wedding and event floral design studio serving the GTHA, Muskoka and Niagara areas. 

Upon ‘retiring’ from the wedding world in 2013, Jennifer fulfilled a lifelong ambition of becoming a full-time painter. She immediately turned her floral design studio into her painting studio and hasn’t looked back. 

Jennifer is self-taught and has forged her own path. Eschewing outside influences, she draws on her decades of design and colour expertise to inform her work. The result is a distinctly recognizable style that dances between the tension of fine details and broad, loose brushstrokes. Focussing on the relationship between vibrant colour and light, her paintings are simultaneously calm and inviting, yet lively and expressive. 

Artist’s Statement 
Storytelling is at the heart of my work. I paint mostly from my own lifetime of experiences and memories. I’m inspired by our vast Canadian landscape, hiking in the Carolinian woodlands, majestic waterways ... and flowers, of course! In each body of work I create, it’s my hope to not only bring a narrative to life with colour and imagination, but for you to be able to find yourself within it.
