Far up the Maine coast, the beaches are rocky, the tides are huge, and the people are scarce. This is "The Bold Coast." Land trusts have conserved swaths of coastline, each with unique qualities - you may find ocean-smoothed jasper, granite boulders, or seaside hedges of wild roses. Eagles and osprey are common, as well as sightings of seals and otters. Both photos were taken at Roque Bluffs State Park in Maine.
