Local Claremont artist Helen Feller is known for her innovative fabric arts creations.  Co-founder of the famous Gypsy Sisters with the late, great Jan Wheatcroft.

As Helen tells it... Fabric comes on big bolts. Scraps come in all sizes, easy to combine and build upon. And dye or un-dye. They combine with mixed-media. Play with the shapes and you have scenes, statements and smiles. And there, to share your ideas with others, is a lasting work of art. I worked first with beads, then metal and stone, and finally quieter fabric. Adding and subtracting is the fun.
