Marciano Martinez (Born 1939) is active/lives in California. Marciano Martinez is known for Watercolor painting, teaching. Marciano Martinez is a retired Art Professor from Fullerton College after 41 years. He earned a MFA from Claremont University and a BAED from The College of Arts in Oakland, CA.

By 7th grade, Martinez knew he wanted to be an artist. Martinez is a plein air artist who works in transparent watercolors, oils and acrylics. Martinez loves to be inspired and capture emotion in his artwork. He explained that he can teach how to draw and paint but “can he teach you how to love to paint?" Martinez shared a story about meeting famed artist, Sister Mary Corita. Corita tore newspaper and laid it on her canvas and painted over it to preserve the whites while making bold, transparent, unique strokes. This technique made a great under-painting or could be rotated to reveal other layouts in the art piece.
