The Peaceful Season
Oil painting by Pat Flaherty
During the beautiful light of spring days, I always want to oil paint out of doors in the fresh air, in the "plein air" tradition of the 19th century French Barbizon school. So I take my portable easel and set it up in a shady spot, preferably near some water. Then I can relax and enjoy the beauty and peace of the nature.
The painting is entitled "Peaceful Season". It is an oil painting of the lake in Verona Park, NJ. I am a resident of Essex County, a member of the West Essex Art Association, and of Studio Montclair. I have painted for many years along the Hudson River through the Garrison Art Center. I was trained in "plein air" painting by John Phillip Osborne of Ridgewood Art Institute. I received the Plein Air prize at Art On the Avenue, Caldwell, NJ in 2014 and 2015. Dimensions : 22" H x 28" W
Name : Pat Flaherty
