When I was living on the northcoast there was a story about a beached whale that saddened and fascinated me, compelling me to paint a piece of this beautiful lost, but navigationally intelligent, still living, creature. It appeared to be 'crying' from its entire being, even a tear from its open eye. This piece was auctioned to a popular radio DJ in Prince Rupert BC.
