Bubble net feeding is a fascinating strategy which some humpbacks in BC and Alaska use to capture herring. It's a complex behavior which includes a specific vocalisation, and coordinated movements t(when done in groups - it also happens individually!) that has been spreading through the North Pacific humpback whale population in the recent decades. These two are in the middle of this feeding strategy, and have just surfaced to grab a mouth full of fish. If you look closely, you can even see one escapee herring! Photo taken from shore, with tele lens and cropped, always respecting whale guidelines! Print info: One (1) fine art print in acid free, special quality Picture Rage paper, printed with archival inks to guarantee that your art print lasts a lifetime without fading or loss of color. Art print size 24"x 15.875", including a 1" white border around the image to allow for future framing and matting, if desired. Shipped rolled up in a secure cardboard tube for your own choice of framing.
