Salt Marsh Bruin (PRO)

18"x 24" inch (approx 48 x 61 cm) acrylic painting on stretched canvas, sides painted black. Framed in light maple colored float frame. Finished size; 19.75 x 25.75 inches (50 x 65.4 cm) 1.25" (3 cm) deep

I have kayaked and camped in and around the BC coast almost every summer for many years and attest to its inimitable value. I’m hoping that this painting will speak to someone eager to loose themselves in a wild landscape. Know that half of the earnings from its sale will go directly to conservation efforts of Pacific Wild, which will make us all happy campers.

Having a strong illustration background, many of my paintings tell a story. This one is of a warming sun and a light breeze ruffling luxuriant grasses in the coastal salt marsh of a wild salmon stream. The hum of insects hints of an underlying anticipation. We are early, the salmon have not yet come to the table. This bruin must be content with a salad of sedges and dessert of chocolate lily and rice roots.

All of the artists with items available for bidding have set their own split on the sale between themselves and Pacific Wild.

Some are even donating 100% of the proceeds, though we believe it's important that contributors also get paid for their work. A win for conservation and a win for artists who support it.
