Lion of Judah

Local artisan and master cabinet-maker, Glen Detwiler, lovingly creates cherished items for your home out of found wood. His pieces are a favorite within the RSM Re-Store.

RSM Founder + Executive Director, Rondy Smith, tells the story behind "The Lion of Judah":

"This gorgeous piece of driftwood was pulled from Old Hickory Lake by my friend Glen Detwiler and crafted into this stunning work of art as only Glen can do! When he asked his wife, Pat, what she saw in this piece of driftwood, she immediately replied "The Lion of Judah!" On a separate occasion he asked me what I saw in this piece of driftwood; I immediately replied "The Lion of Judah!" I had no idea Pat had seen "the giant lion's paw" and attributed its meaning exactly as I had! Glen concluded, in a revelatory way, this piece must be named The Lion of Judah! Our church recently sang "He is Worthy", taken from Revelation 5:5 "Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David's throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals." (NLT)"
