Keoni: Woven Wood Sculpture

Artist Keoni uses fire, sharpened steel, and ink to create story-driven, touchable illusions (it’s not actually a woven basket!) from sugar maple. His magnificent bowls often require more than 25,000 individual cuts, burns, or colored cells to execute a design. Astonishingly, he works freehand to create stunning tribal imagery.
