Willie Looking Shy (PRO)

12"x12"x3/4" acrylic on canvas. A portrait of Willie, a handsome young male grizzly we observed for hours as he fished in Knight Inlet a few years ago. He was super entertaining, standing up to better view the spawning salmon, chasing them through the shallow stream, and succeeding maybe 1/3 of the time. I've painted WIllie dozens of times, he's a great favourite of mine and of people who buy my art.

I hope more Canadians get a chance to observe these gorgeous animals in the wild and understand why it’s so super important to preserve vast areas of wilderness in BC and Alberta.  My work is at Mountain Galleries in the Fairmont at Whistler, Jasper, Banff, and a stand alone in Stratford.  I’m on the Grizzly Bear Foundation Board and donate 1% of all sales to the GBF in addition to my fundraising donations for Pacific Wild.
