Haida Gwaii Heart (PRO)

16"x20" framed fine art print This is Mudge Inlet, which is one of a few inlets in the greater area of Englefield Bay on the North West Coast of Moresby Island, Haida Gwaii, BC. I spent a summer working up there and camera in hand had the chance to explore this pristine, virtually untouched coastal landscape. I saw majestic pods of orcas, massive colonies of sea lions and more eagles than I could count. I witnessed humpback whales feeding for hours, stunning their bait with huge slaps from their flippers on the surface of the water. I have travelled the world and in no other place have I felt like I was truly one with nature. This vast wilderness at my finger tips, I spent days and weeks out on the water exploring and discovering. Places like this and countless others need our help, our protection. As a photographer, over the years I have donated my services in support of causes I believe in. Creating this piece for the Pacific Wild Auction was a new way for me to give back and contribute to something bigger than myself.
