Ocean Energy (PRO)
I love the energy the ocean creates: vibrant and electric. Healing and calming. Seaweeds are a massive part of that system and I never appreciated seaweed so much until I started working at the UC Davis Bodega Marine Lab, a world-class facility where all types of seemingly magical things take place, including the research of Eel Grass and other types of seaweeds. I was there when the sea star die-off happened, leading to a historic burst in sea urchin populations, who then decimated most seaweed species and turned entire underwater ecosystems into vast oceanic deserts. Thankfully, some of the only places sea urchins can't reach is above the waterline. I created this image with the intent to show both pause and flow. The movement of the water and standing seaweeds are juxtaposed against the immovable limestone.
This limited-edition 16" x 24" signed image is printed on an "Epic Print", which is made from Fujiflex silver halide photographic paper with up to 610dpi resolution, for high-precision clarity that’s as close to “perfect” as print gets.
