Sunset on Saganaga Ⅰ

"Sunset on Saganaga Ⅰ" is a needle felted landscape in wool mounted on a custom hand-milled Minnesota red oak floating canvas frame. Needle felting is one of the oldest forms of textile art and involves using specialized barbed needles to push fibers together, creating friction to open the fibers' natural scales and fuse them together. Needle felting is essentially painting with layers of colored fibers. This piece was inspired by all of the amazing sunsets I've witnessed on Saganaga Lake near the end of the Gunflint Trail. See https://Feltscaping.com for more. Felt canvas dimensions: 9.5" W x 7.5" H Framed dimensions: 13.25" W x 11.25" H x 1.25" D
