INNOVATION: Era of Enlightenment [Jace]
Jace Guy is a graduate of Lindblom Math and Science Academy, a selective enrollment high school located in south Chicago. Jace is a woman of many talents with a mind that runs purely off of creativity. She previously came across an acronym for “CREATE” that defines her characteristics perfectly: Curious, Risk-taking, Embracing paradox and ambiguity, Attentiveness and adaptability, Thinking Big, Experimenting and problem-solving. Jace’s interests include anything that helps her understand and see the world differently. More specifically she loves dance, hair, entrepreneurship, animals and traveling. She started doing hair in 2018 and she joined the military in 2019-20. She studied abroad in Morocco and Panama during her high school years, visiting over 5 countries. Today Jace is currently obtaining her Real Estate License in the midst of improving as a serial entrepreneur – all of which continue to lead her into new experiences.
Jace was a member of TGME’s 3rd Cohort, and says if she took away anything from her TGME experience, the most valuable part she carries with her is knowing that there is always opportunity, support, and resources out there, even if it is hard to find. TGME has introduced her to partners, mentors, Black-owned business owners, educators, networking, grant opportunities, and a variety of community events. The list goes on, and an insurmountable amount of doors have been opened, almost overwhelming Jace with choices to begin with. Since 2019 she now owns and shares a part of three fully functioning businesses; Kargo Kangaroo, Got Bounce party rentals, and HBJ.G, LLC. At just 20 years young this is just the beginning for her.
